The brief
The Hamilton wine store team were in the process of having the store signage updated and wanted the website to reflect the branding changes.
The list of features required included:
- Ability to update all website pages
- Shopping section to be repaired as it previously didn't function
- Communication by email with extensive customer list
- Updateable postage calculator to integrate with the shopping function
The solution
Our solution was to repair the existing shopping function and integrate a new hand-coded and updateable postage calculator tool
We created a new design to match the store's new branding definition.
The non-shopping pages were then all converted to be editable in-house using our own content management system.
We integrated the email newsletter system into the website so that visitors can subscribe and unsubscribe automatically.
The outcome
In the four weeks since launch, the website has been receiving an average of 40 visits per day compared to pre-launch of 3 visits per day. On average visitors have been viewing 8 pages per visit.
The search engine positioning has improved since launch. For the keyphrase "wine store hamilton" the website now appears in position 2 on page 1 of Google.co.nz.
After training sessions, the team is sending out an email newsletter to the subscriber list weekly telling of the week's specials and the wine tasting events.
